Ministers ‘considering cuts to Employment and Support Allowance’

If cuts to the main Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) sickness benefit come to fruition then new claimants of the government’s ESA benefit could stand to receive just 50p more than people on Job Seekers Allowance.

Furthermore, it seems that the benefit has a significant backlog and the government has had to employ extra staff just to cope. But it seems that opposition parties are adamant that ESA benefit would not be reduced in value.
