Thousands of people took part in this year’s London marathon, including three of our consultants: Caroline Robinson, Andy Ashton and Kevin Ryan.
The event was literally out of this world, with Major Tim Peake kicking it off from the International Space Station. The British astronaut even took part from space on a treadmill, breaking the record for the fastest marathon in orbit, with a time of 3hr 35min 21sec. Kevin Ryan managed to beat this as he ran a personal best of 2h 54 mins 17 secs.
The consultants ran for The Pepper Foundation, which funds hospice at home palliative care for life-limited children and young people, and Brooke Hospital for animals.
Huge congratulations to the three of them from all of us here at Premier Choice Group. An excellent achievement that they should all be very proud of.
Heads Together, a partnership of mental health charities brought together by The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will benefit from next year’s event after being announced as the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon Charity of the Year.
